We frequently have discussions regarding ND filters here, and I just experienced a mis-identification issue with such filters for the second time.
As a still photographer, I haven't had the need for ND filters. I bought a CPL early on in my drone life because I use it extensively in my architectural pursuits. Video is happening now, however, so I ordered a set of ND's from B&H.
Having gone through several generations of filters for my terrestrial work, I'm in the habit of inspecting and testing them to make sure they're what they are represented to be (our Chinese friends occasionally have a problem with labeling). Sure enough, the ND 4 was a 16, the ND 16 was actually an 8, and the 8 was a 4.
Get out the lablemaker.
