Fort Wayne (Ind.) has its own FAA (who knew?)

Doesn't the FAA already cover this type of situation and how can they regulate the air space as they are not the FAA although I do understand they could regulate your takeoff and Landing points. Seems to me it's just a way to get attention that they are trying to fix a problem that does not exist.

Local authorities supersede the FAA? I thought this had already been dealt with when a town in New England tried to eliminate flights below 400 feet. The appeals court shot them down.

I’m all for safety. There are reckless people out there who hurt us all. But if every little community can start making up their own drone rules, might as well sell your gear and go fishing.

Leave the National airspace to the pros at the FAA. And being a bit skeptical, I ask if it is really all about safety, or more about authority.
