Hi,
I'm looking for a pilot from the London Ontario/ Lake Erie basin to help Environmental Defence, an environmental charity, capture footage of the summer algae bloom in Lake Erie.

The bloom generally starts in the south west of the Lake and has spread past Pelee Island, but when large blooms occur they will only be really striking in colour for a day or two before getting mixed in with the water, so we'll need to act fast! You can see current status and algae predictions here: https://www.glerl.noaa.gov/res/HABs_and_Hypoxia/habTracker.html - large bloom could occur any time between now and late September depending on weather conditions.
This is a cool opportunity to get some awesome footage. Small budget available.

Let me know if you're interested!
Thanks, Rachel

Log on to the FAA web site, see if you can get a listing of 107 licensed pilots in your area and reach out to them. Also check on some of the professional photography forums because many professional photographers are beginning to use drones.

Sounds like a very interesting photo opportunity.
Best of luck
