Other than Site validation, flare stack inspection (using Thermal or gas detection), pipeline imagery, site imagery,- what other uses have people seen for oil and Gas specifically?
I know in areas with subsidence concerns they can be useful for tracking progression and measuring the site, with a surveyor/GCPS most likely. In AK the ground would shift around a lot and tracking it manually seemed like a big job.
I haven't been in refineries for a while but there were always survey targets on supports and other structures to measure if they were moving around. I think a lidar/point cloud could do a pretty good job of that in some areas.
