We were out last week working with DJI testing their AeroScope system at Denver International Airport.

This system is pretty amazing. I would be great to see this at all facilities were drones need to be regulated.

We had three drones in the sky, and even got permission from ATC to go to 250' at our location. All three drones were spotted immediately, and even our home points were visible on the screens. We were barely a mile and a half from the end of the runway.

Great experience to be able to help out DJI and the community. Not to mention the other airports and FAA personnel that were there.

Hi Vic
I was lucky enough to be testing Aeroscope in Australia this past week. We installed the system into a prison facility and then spent four days testing the system. Great fun dropping packages into the prison and also a remote landing inside.
Aeroscope worked beautifully but of course it didn't catch the 3DR Solo... ;-)

It will. The technology is there for the AeroScope to catch them all within the band widths. In the testing phase, DJI doesn't want to step on any toes by using other protocols.

It will never catch all of them, no system will. If someone wants to bypass a security system, they will.

It's all about catching those who are clueless and careless. The criminal type will find a way around any system.

But it would be fun to play "bad guy" by dropping stuff into a prison. With full cooperation of the authorities obviously. ;-)

Yes it was BIG fun. We also demonstrated multiple threat scenarios and even had a fixed wing circling overhead with a WiFi modem installed like an AWACS.

The most stealthy aircraft was a 550 flame wheel that we built with no camera or gimbal, no led lights, no RC or telemetry of any kind. Just a basic quad frame with 4 motors and an APM autopilot and a GPS puck. You load up the flight plan via USB cable and send it off. The setup takes some thinking about but it all works....
