Waiting for this heat to let up for my first flight in TX!

I have been flying the A2S and MA2 in the TX heat several days a week, 4-5 batteries at a time all this month. Which component are you worried about? or is it the PILOT you're worried about?! You can only think and plan for so long--at some point you just need to get out and fly. 🤠😎 Welcome from...

Is DJI Air 2s a good starter drone for a pro?

I have had my A2s since March and in that time have used it on all but two of my paid jobs. It is excellent (at least for my use case). I deliver photography and videography, no mapping. P4P could be purchased used for similar price as the A2s and is more suited for mapping with the global shutter.

First Gig - its a weird one.

That's great and not surprising that you are learning new things about your gear while going to this shoot. I tell myself all the time, that every job can be looked at like paid training. I learn something new (try to anyway) with each project. More time on the sticks makes me better whether it...

    thermal commercial roof scans?

Ah, a LOT of EPDM up there. So you're a Level 1 Thermographer!? Nice; you are way ahead of the game already. My turn to ask you for advice. Was it online and how much did it cost? I haven't gotten an employer to pay for it, so I still havent acheived the cert. It is something like $3k each time...

    thermal commercial roof scans?

A moisture survey of existing conditions is REQUIRED by all commercial roof system manufacturers before issuing a warranty for a roof overlay using their product. This is to prevent sealing moisture within the roof assembly under the new roof. I say all this to point out that roofing contractors...

Another FAA delay on Part 107 for March 2021

Same here. I can either take the test in person and slap down $165. Or take it online and pay $0 and have night time approval. I really hope they have it by the end of March. Even if they don't, perhaps I will lapse for a couple of weeks. But if they keep delaying until May (or more) I need to...

Is your operation a registered business?

Interesting thread with a lot of good info. I have been at this about four years now and only do about 5-10k/year. I do what Electromen mentioned above; file a schedule C and declare gross and net revenue, no big whoop for me as my side money. I have used Verifly in the past when big jobs...

    Hangar/Lab Recommendations

This was included in the weekly email to me from Commercial Drone Pilots as one of, "this week's most popular topics." Yet there are only two replies... so this is based on thumbs up numbers? or something else? If anyone has some insight, I'm just curious.

    Howdy from Texas

When I started my business I lived in Frisco, I've been in Carrollton for several years now. I have had to refer business to others four or five times now due to scheduling conflicts. Always good to know another local guy. Welcome.

The Madness has started and the FBI is on the hunt

Yes I understand what a TFR is. I also very clearly stated in my post that I do not agree with breaking the law and we should always follow them. And no one suggested random or easy TFR approval. Per usual, your post comes off as somewhat hostile. Thank you to the other two gentleman for...

The Madness has started and the FBI is on the hunt

Before We chant for his head on a platter. How about we examine the TFR itself. I DO AGREE that violating TFR is foolish and I do not condone breaking the law. So, how about we start a new debate. How big and what duration is reasonable for Superbowl TFR? Why was the TFR in place on Wednesday 17...
