Why is the real estate industry so chintzy?

Not having anyone who wants me to make a video of one's home does not help me make a real estate portfolio though I have asked. By pounding pavement, does that mean walking into real estate offices and conversing and trying to convey what I do and how I could help them, as I did in person at the...

Why is the real estate industry so chintzy?

There used to be a time when musicians complained that their songs were being played everywhere and they were not getting royalties. ASCAP finally started sending out their agents to investigate. I know personally of some restaurants that have stopped playing music altogether because they don't...

Why is the real estate industry so chintzy?

I have offered to do trial aerial imagery for some local realtors just to show them what I could offer them in order to turn them on to UAV photography, but not even a single response. Most realtors around here do not offer aerial imagery in their ads yet though, as this market seems to be...

Why is the real estate industry so chintzy?

I concur. I dropped a lot of my business cards at a recent Parade of Homes locally...not a single response. I noticed a few days ago that a developer started using a few aerial drone shots, and I suspect he is doing it himself...it's too easy.

How long did it take you to get your Remote Pilot ID Card from the FAA?

I passed at the end of February 2017, and I got the card around the first of May or so, more than two months. It seemed worth the wait though, as it is a pretty thing to behold...so in your case I might expect to get the card around the first of March based on the same calculus, which may have...

    Part 107 License Renewal

By the way, Russ, I am already anticipating that based on knowing the high level of excellence that Gold Seal operates at, once the renewal tests start becoming common, there will be refresher reviews and quizzes for that kind of thing at Gold Seal...just a personal prediction and hope...

    Part 107 License Renewal

Lifetime! ...did not know that, but that is FANTASTIC! ...and thank you too for helping me get the A...

    Part 107 License Renewal

I leaned with Gold Seal, and passed with an A on the exam but still missed a couple of questions that the FAA threw into the mix that had not been covered. It is a great course and the practice quizzes helped a lot. I have about a year or so until renewal and remember learning somewhere that the...

    Politicians Watching Us

WATCH: Private drones cause increasing concern on Capitol Hill This article and video should be of concern to us. I have seen many drone users bragging about flying outside authorized envelope, into clouds, flying at night, farther than visual ability, etc. They are waiting for a disaster to...

    Another Hello from Colorado

I used this course and once it's paid for I think it's good for four years, so I can study for my next qualification test after 24 months. It was effective with good practice quizzes to prepare. I made an A on the FAA test last February. FAA Part 107 Ground School

    Another Hello from Colorado

I appreciate the professional advice very much. I really have not had the chance to discuss business matters with successful commercial pilots until now.

    New at CDP Forum

Those are good points, Maddog. I guess I like the X-Star because I have flown it a lot, about 30 hours, and it has been easy to keep it safe and out of trouble. For me it is reliable and gives great imagery. Like most companies, Autel has to follow the technology. For what it can easily do for...

    Another Hello from Colorado

I started out at a higher rate and got no bids because of competition and just not that many jobs in my area. I don't think even any realtors are using aerial imagery here. I gave out a bunch of my business cards at the last Parade of Homes and no response. Plus I don't work for any company and...

    Two Year Re-Testing?

A question for all you other UAV Part 107 pilots...I took my test late last winter and will need to re qualify if that is the term every 24 months for the license or certificate...so I have more than a year. Have any of you taken that test to extend your pilot qualification yet?

    Another Hello from Colorado

I considered the Typhoon too which seems like a very cool bird, but my first aircraft was the X-Star a year ago about when I got my Part 107 license. I am moving to the Grand Valley on the west side of Colorado this year so my wife can breathe dry air and not get asthmatic reactions. The terrain...
