"Must be nice flying toys all day" - *sigh*

Thankfully I have never heard that rubbish yet. Were I to do so I wold remind them of how much it cost. How much it cost to insure. How much it cost for my PfCO and finally ask them if they could do the same.

    Kittyhawk

I am not an enterprise customer, I am just a single flier using it to save me time. Cannot use LAANC as I am in the UK, and never will get to the US. I was just saying for my purposes it is indispensable, just my thought.

    Kittyhawk

I have used Kittyhawk for a long time, since before my PfCO. I would not fly without it . Combines all I need and more here in the uk and makes my flight and record keeping so much easier. One or two bugs but nothing major. And customer service is excellent. It does take.a little to settle in.

    Professional Photographers with Drones

Just the same as you to a point. Pro photographer fro twenty years until my condition stopped me holding the camera, a brand new D810 with Nikon glass. Ho hum. A drone now let’s me take images as that lifts the camera for me.

    A menace in the skies

Not worth getting in a flap about it. They know too many people in government as they help feather their nests!

    Retirement

Add me to you list too. I am 66 very soon and I fly because it proves to me that I can still do something of value. I fly so I can take images and I fly for charity. Of course I am not as quick as I was, that’s why learning to fly a racing drone is a little, errr, challenging.

Client wants aerial pics for 80 cents each

I am a retiree because I cannot work anymore. One job I had to give up,was photography where we saw this thing happening cheapsters coming along and making believe they know it all. We fixed many of their problems with their wedding images when the bride had nowhere to turn. But I also worked as...

UK - Risk Assessments - Do you write the same things over and over again?

I use my aircraft in a similar way. I developed checklists and risk assessments. These I loaded onto Kittyhawk.io and now it is quite quite to go through the lists and tick the boxes, making notes of changes whenever appropriate. I love the Kittyhawk system as it is just right for me. There re...

    UK PFCO

Make sure that you mention 400’ is above surface level. Mine was returned because I used AGL, also are you a sole owner and operator. If you are then you will not only be the pilot but the operator too. Both require separate mentions and updates.

    About time....

I can see where you are coming from, but as you say either way will make it interesting.

    About time....

I agree. Drone or bin bag, our profession has been done great harm by this incident and it will take a long time, if ever, to recover.

Lightening Fast 4 day PfCO Renewal (UK)!

Certainly quicker but their looking at my ops manual was just as picky. Got a letter wrong in an abbreviation and it was returned for re writing! Nearly as quick as my children in getting money out of me too!

    PBF in the UK here.

I would say there are no shortcuts to your PfCO. There is a lot of hard work for you there. I took. One last year for very similar reasons, and even with a background in pro photography and commercial aviation I found it challenging, especially writing the Ops Manual. Post qualification mean5...

    Why are my photos bad?

For me I always shoot in RAW and use AEB for every image I create. As for the aesthetics that is something that comes with time. The images above have been recognised as low rez so hopefully 401 can take that and make changes. However, I think this post illustrates something really important for...

    I'm just an avid droner . . .

An interesting take, it is “our duty”. I would not argue with that statement. Sadly at our side of the pond the police, cannot be found. When I rang them about being burgled they never came. Never see them around our village. Just too few trying to deal with drugs, murders, assaults etc. How...
