    Droners.io Caution / New Lesson

How you run your business is up to you of course, and slow payers suck. The majority of my clients pay immediately or within a few days. I have had a couple that pay within a few weeks. It's just how they do their business and some pay invoices only once or twice a month. Until an outstanding...

    18 Hours in a 172

He was alone, so not shoulder to shoulder cramped....when I was in college back in the mid 80's I had a VW Beetle. Every spring my fraternity brothers would drive down to South Padre for Spring Break. So, 12 hours in a Beetle, me and my girlfriend. Granted, we could stop for gas, bathroom and...

Waiting for this heat to let up for my first flight in TX!

I've had a couple jobs where this was possible. Did a big old church in Dallas, roof inspection images, and I was able to sit in the Jeep with the AC running, drone always in full view. Had to reposition twice. Sure was nice sitting in that AC while it was 98 outside and humid. I have an 18oz...

Waiting for this heat to let up for my first flight in TX!

It's been a hot one so far. Last few days here in DFW, 108-110. It's finally cooling off to 102-103 for the next week or so. I start at dawn and am grounded by 11:00 am. Plenty of time to get a few jobs in. My clients know the limitations as well and understand. They don't send their Engineers...

    Scam Alert!

LOL...I've never offered to do it for free....I usually delete them but sometimes I respond with something like: "I can do this project for $140k in cash, up front. Once you pay me and the payment clears for 30 days, I can begin." I never get a response.

DJI & Indirect funding from Chinese Gov't

Yuneec uses NFZ software, but you can apply to get it removed with certain qualifications. DJI should follow this model.

DJI & Indirect funding from Chinese Gov't

DJI spying on us....LOL....it always cracks me up to hear this. Facebook, Twitter, Insta, Google, Amazon, PayPal, YOUR Bank, Credit Cards, DirecTV, Dish Network, Internet Providers, Website Cookies, Alexa, Siri, Garmin Maps, mobile devices...(I could go on and on) ALL gather FAR more...

Finally!! First Hummer of the Season

@RussOnTheRoad is correct regarding the food coloring. It is widely advised to not use it, just the recommended 4:1 mix. Where are you Russ? I'm guessing Pac NW from the Anna's distro and the cold you mentioned. Do you use eBird and Merlin? I submit checklists a few times a week. Don't feel...

    DJI Geofence Stops Flight

Choose Zone Unlock: Find your zone on the map and click to select it: (instead of drawing a polygon in the zone around the area you wish to fly) Then submit for that zone.

Finally!! First Hummer of the Season

Ruby Throats. If you live east of the Rockies, pretty much all you'll see are Black-Chinned and Ruby Throats: See the distribution on the latest Migration Map...here in DFW we get a mix of both with a rare outlier possible, but go east and all you see are Ruby Throats. Very easy to tell the...

Finally!! First Hummer of the Season

You're farther east than me...do you get anything other than Black-Chinned and Ruby Throats? That's all we get here unless I go down to Brownsville or out to El Paso and get lucky.
