Amen to your closing statement. I’ve been a semi-pro photographer for over 40 years and it amazes me at some of the poor quality work I see on business websites. Likely taken by an unlicensed employee (or owner) or kid with a drone who does it for nothing.
I’m not at the point of having to...
I recently had to renew my Part 107 to remain current. Only 40 questions this time and others suggested there were no questions on weather or load and balance...there were on the one issued to me. That’s not really my point but while I was taking the exam it dawned that anyone can take the test...
I studied for 3 months before I sat for the exam. Purchased study guide as well as textbook for Solo pilot exam.I had to take recertification a couple of weeks ago and purchased an APP for 4.99 to refresh my forgotten knowledge. It was helpful. The initial exam is 60 questions and the...
It’s a fact. Has to be fireproof. You must have insurance as well. Doesn’t state you have to have proof of insurance but when flying in a foreign country it’s better to have everything in order. Specific rules about flying with audio/visual equipment and language about flying over private...
Went into Düsseldorf and out of Amsterdam last summer with no problem what so ever. Make sure you have a metal engraved I.D. Registration placed on the exterior of your aircraft.

People call me the drone Nazi because when someone starts that cowboy drone talk I ask if they are licensed? The ones who have a suspicion as to why I ask usually shut up. The real cowboys keep running that mouth until I start preaching about following the rules.
BTW, we’re practically...
Excellent points. I’m one of those soon to be retirees.. maybe and since I’ve been flying for couple of years I’ve turned down “offers” for some ridiculous chump change and unbelievable expectations. My niche is construction because it’s what I’ve done basically my whole career.
I have a...
With the Federal Government shutdown causing those who need to recertify right now, does that mean you are flying illegally if your certification has expired in the past 3 weeks? I suppose it does but no fault of anybody but Gubmint.
The point of the post is not to debate whether it’s a DRONE but it’s yet another aerial vehicle for the FAA to regulate. With these “Non DRONES” cluttering urban areas it is going to get tougher and more restrictive as to how high or where UAS “DRONES” can operate.
So LTFU.
Thanks, I thought that was the case. Taking mine this summer. I've read that the retest is 40 questions down from 60 and weather, load and balance questions are eliminated. Likely focus on sectionals, communications, common sense, etc.?
