Flying near/in a Wildlife Refuge Question

This is great! Good luck with your flight. I note that noise is the main concern. If your drone is not particularly noisy and nesting season has passed, I don't imagine you could be disturbing wildlife. Not sure, but maybe you don't even have to overfly the refuge, as the house is on its' own...

    Tablet

I bought a tablet to use for flying only, or so I thought, that has GPS. Glad I did as there are GPS apps that I find quite useful for other activities (hiking, driving, access to map layers, etc). Data is not needed for flying or GPS, but I buy a monthly data plan so I can access the internet...

Is there a career to be made in being a drone photographer? Hello from New Jersey

1.) The DJI drones are great in many ways, but I gather from reading here there can be issues with the drone being too smart and locking you out of some areas. I'm learning on an inexpensive drone for now. Lingering Winter weather and a full time job have slowed the process, but when I do fly I...

    Professional Photographers with Drones

About twenty years as a full-time photographer, now part-time. As my main interest is shooting stock, the cost of drone photography seemed too high. But then I started reading about what these aircraft can do. Stopped into Best Buy and found a discount on a Spark F/M Combo. I'm really excited to...

    Photography

Thanks, Allen. I'm a bit surprised that there isn't more activity here, with all the posts about part 107 elsewhere. Like the OP, I think photos and videos are the main interest of many fliers.

    Photography

This is a good idea. I'm a sem-retired photographer who couldn't resist a flying camera any longer. My immediate interest is stills, but videos could be a future activity. Biggest obstacle is finding launch/landing spots near locations that might yield photos with sales potential, but I'm...

Should i go for it?? (PART 107 DRONE TRAINING)

Thanks, Big Al. My first paragraph is aimed at the OP with the thought of him getting hired, not doing those jobs himself. If I were much younger, I'd be thinking along those lines. I should have mentioned that getting a drone and becoming a proficient pilot is as important as getting certified...

Should i go for it?? (PART 107 DRONE TRAINING)

As a future career field, drone pilot is worth considering, I think. I haven't looked into this very far, but I believe companies will be hiring to get people to operate their drones for mapping, inspections, etc. Power lines, wind turbines, tall structures of any kind, can easily be checked...
