    QR Codes to Link Videos

This is a standard feature in Chrome. On the very right of the URL line is a "share" icon (box with a right-pointing arrow). Click it and select the "Create QR Code" link. Just use it when you're on the page of your video.

Has anyone on here gotten any work from the site Droners.io?

Kind of comes with the territory if you want to get paid. They need your SSN in order to send you a 1099.

    Best Drone Insurance

Excellent write-up, DroneInsuranceDude. I did try Airmodo, but their 1 year policy was significantly higher than what I got with BWI, so for now, sticking with that option. Hopefully we'll see some more competition soon.

    Best Drone Insurance

I got quotes from a company called BWI, Skywatch, as well as the agent that covers my plane. Interestingly, all of the quotes are underwritten by Global Aerospace, but the premiums varied from $400 (BWI) to $466 (Skywatch). This is for a $500K policy for a 1-year term.

Remote ID and its impact on working drone pilots

I know RID is 9 months away, but I'm already starting to think about how it will impact me day to day. I do about 2 jobs per week as a side hustle, mostly commercial real estate. Many of my jobs are are located in what I'd call not-so-desirable areas. I'm always aware of my surroundings...

    Good Value Aviation Frequency radio

www.sportys.com has their own branded one. I've had it for 20 years and it still works just fine. Not as high quality as iCom, but it gets the job done

    Austin Texas permission request form?

I do several shoots in the Austin area every week. I just follow the drone rules as established by the FAA. Never had an issue. Will be looking forward to hearing what you find out, but I don't see how they can regulate it.

Who is S. Rose on Droners.io?

I think this notion of S. Rose making money off of "my back" is a bit of "sour grapes." He has invested in a business and even though he doesn't fly the missions, he finds the customers, finds the pilots, edits the work, and delivers a finished product to the customer. He's not different than...

Who is S. Rose on Droners.io?

Something doesn't square here. I've done thousands of dollars worth of work for S. Rose, and I can comfortably say that he is THE most reliable payer among the several DSPs that I fly for. It probably sounds like I have an interest in his business, but I truly do not, other than to see more jobs...

Who is S. Rose on Droners.io?

Classic example of supply and demand. I've actually done many jobs through Droners, and yeah the 10% cut hurts. Also agree that one cannot make a living out of doing these types of jobs, but I have a FT job, so doing a couple of $100 jobs every week is a fun way to keep my flying skills sharp...

Who is S. Rose on Droners.io?

what kinds of jobs are people getting through DB? CRE? Mapping? Other?

Who is S. Rose on Droners.io?

I think the way that they have configured their automation software and associated notifications strikes the wrong tone, so I can definitely see where the comment is coming from. The main issue is that anyone with a new drone and a tiny bit of skill can get jobs through DB (ask me how I know)...

    Second mission for DroneBase.com

Welcome to CRE droning! DB is the only company that I'm aware of that wants 10' cardinal shots. Seems silly to me, but that's what they want! Most of the other folks I do work for just want roof level shots, but that can be just as stressful. Like others have said, if you think you're risking...

Has anyone on here gotten any work from the site Droners.io?

I'm obviously not in love with the idea, but all of the DSPs that I've signed on with, collect your SS#--this is for the W-4 form so they can properly classify you and pay you.
