Has anyone successfully applied for a long-term night waiver?

We applied shortly after commercial operations became legal under part 107 and we're approved, I believe until 2022. We were very thorough and focused on safety. Who you are doesn't play such a big role in the decision to grant waivers, safety does however. We helped the Memphis Fire Department...

    Flying Stomping Grounds.

Thanks AH-1G, I put a lot of time into trying to make our offerings stand out :)

    Flying Stomping Grounds.

I've never really thought about it, but when I'm testing out a new drone or training a new pilot on a technique, we find a place that's unproblematic and utilize it for the task at hand. You can see some of these in my Instagram feed mixed in with job site shots/videos as well...

    Editing Software

We use Magix Vegas Pro for our NLE, which used to be Sony Vegas Pro, which use to be Sonic Foundry Vegas. I've personally used it since version 4 and am now on version 16. It's intuitive and it just works. I also subscribe to Adobe CC, but don't use Premiere as I much prefer the Vegas workflow.

    Professional Photographers with Drones

I bought a drone to compliment my ground based photography. There was always a tree line, structure, or telephone pole in the way and the drone allowed for these things to no longer block the shot. I got my license a month after it became legal. I spent a couple months building out my website...

What gets someone the good jobs

What's been our experience is having a website that looks better than the competition and is SEO optimized. That's how they find us (as well as well-crafted, targeted ads in both print and online) as first impressions matter. We also always do client surveys to find out how they found us, what...

Insurance (including Hull) for Singapore & Malaysia...

I'm having much difficulty finding hull / equipment insurance coverage that is honored in Singapore and Malaysia for a reasonable price (it'll only be needed for a 2 week period of filming/photographing). I'm finding policies for a year that come in around $750 to $900USD that include 1million...

    nolimitdronez.com or ???

I had this exact problem in Green Bay Wisconsin. I flew up with my equipment, FAA approval, DJI's unlock and arrived at Schneiders headquarters only to be met with a red label that I can't take off. Now I always fly with a Parrot Anafi as my backup drone. Fool me once, shame on me...

    DJI and "Pay for Play"

I too have since added Parrot's Anafi drones to our fleet as backups. No Geofencing is a big plus with that 21mp drone, but the height restriction is problematic for tower inspections! I contacted them about this and they gave me two workarounds and both void the warranty. But at least their...

    Hello From Memphis TN!

Find a gap in the services offered by those in your area (including us :)) and see if your skill set can fill that void. Then focus, and focus hard on that area. You won't get 100% of the drone jobs, but if you market yourself right, you'll get the bulk majority of those who are in need of the...

    DJI and "Pay for Play"

We were hired for a job several States away. Waited 120+ days for airspace authorization as it was less than a mile away from the international airport. Got the authorization, coordinated with the client and production crew on timing, contacted DJI to "unlock" the phantom 4 pro+ and was...

How Do You Market Your Drone Business Locally?

I went the route of building off my established photography business and adding in aerial. I then realized that there's so much more potential to monetize aerial, so I expanded my offerings to the point where I couldn't keep up. I had to bring in other drone operators. The problem I've ran into...

DJI Restricted Area: A Pain in My Side

Background: 150+ day wait for authorization from FAA. Client waited for approval. Restricted zone approval via manual submission to DJI for date/time of flight. Pack equipment, board a plane, hours later arrive in Green Bay. Shoot b-roll at predetermined locations. No issues, all equipment...

360 Sphere Pano via Phantom 4 Pro PLUS

It may not be, but the Mavic Air does not exhibit this behavior (or lack the feature). I've yet to test it on the 4 pro (non plus model). I assumed it was tied to the crystal sky monitor .Thanks again.

360 Sphere Pano via Phantom 4 Pro PLUS

I appreciate the response, but what I was looking for is specific to the Phantom 4 pro PLUS drone (or crystal sky). For any others who might be looking for what I was, I figured out how to do it. I'll include the steps below: Have your Phantom 4 Pro Plus do a Sphere panorama from the photo...
