AUVSI (TOP) Trusted Operator Program

I was in New York this past weekend for the NYC film drone festival. One of the workshop was about the law and regulations.

According to the panelists who were attorneys, AUVSI has developed a program called the Trusted Operator Program (TOP) which they are looking in adopting nationwide for those with a Part 107 operator certificate. Essentially, having different tiers of training experience depending on the UAS being flown and the job being performed. Here is a link

We have heard rumor of this for a while now but I've not seen anything hard & fast I would trust on it as of yet. Maybe soon . . .

We've seen many companies come and go with promises that didn't pan out.
