I’m sorry if I’m intruding or if this is too off topic. I just saw something so strange last night and I don’t know who to ask about it. I live in rural Idaho on a ranch and last night I saw white lights in the sky coming across our field 50 to 100 feet off the ground. I saw three white lights evenly spaced and I thought they were landing lights on a small airplane. I was driving down the road at the time and had time to stop and turn around and start following them somewhat parallel as they were going across our field at I would guess 20 to 25 mph. They were angling towards the road and flew almost right over my pick up when they crossed. I shut my pick up off to listen because I thought they were drones but I could not hear anything. In total I saw three white lights and two red lights evenly spaced crossing the road not much higher than the powerlines. My brother was standing on his back porch as they flew by the house and he could not hear anything either. Him and his fiancé said they may have heard a low whirring sound similar to their window fan on its lowest setting. I know how loud a Mavic Pro is because I own one And you can definitely hear it from a distance let alone five of them. Especially drones powerful enough to carry a bright light and power it.

In summary, I saw five lights (three bright white and 2 red) that seemed to be associated with some sort of craft flying in formation (Steady enough to think they were landing lights on a plane) across Our field at 50 to 100 feet AGL. They were silent or Possibly near silent from about a 100 or 150 foot distance. I tried to follow them but they were angling away from the road. They disappeared out over the desert out of sight. I never saw them stop and go towards the ground. I would say from the time I saw them to the time I couldn’t see them anymore they had to have went 5-7 miles. They were definitely moving together in some sort of formation judging by the equal distance between them and my brother also saw them do a coordinated turn from coming straight at him in a line looking like 1 light to moving at a 45° angle across our Field where he noticed then there were more than one. Do drones like this exist? If they do why would they be out over the Idaho desert? If they do why would they be out over the Idaho desert at night?

It seems like there are a lot of UFO sightings in Idaho

Here is a LINK to many recently reported sightings - don't know if you are close to any of the locations

Welcome to the forum :)

Odds are you saw some type of large UAS and possibly even something from the military or something. Keep in mind that our small sUAS are exceptionally loud and the larger the prop the slower they turn and less noise they make. It would be SWEET if you could have gotten some cell phone video or something so we could all see what they looked like.

Maybe they'll come back tonight :)

It could have just been the Goodyear blimp and seeing only one side you would not have seen the green lights on the other side. If the winds aloft were right they could have left the engines idle and used the prevailing wind for propulsion to conserve fuel.

Thing is, anyone can build a drone with any light pattern they choose. So it could have been a drone, or something else. According to the U.S. Navy UFO’s exist so it could have been one of those. As there are no supporting photos or videos, and human depth perception is for the most part deplorable at night, there’s pretty much nothing in your description to use for determinations.

I've always wondered two things about UFO's: (1)why do they display navigation lights? One would assume they don't want to be spotted and (2) How is it they can navigate through the Cosmos for light years, dodging cosmic rays, black holes, comets et al. Then the little grey ( Mod Removed Langage ) get here and forget how to fly and crash???

More over, once navigating intergalactic/stellar space and solving the problems of trans-light travel, upon arrival all they can think to do is kidnap Clem and Edna Clodidlehopper and stick probs up their butts.

What you seen was a UFO, meaning Unidentified Flying Object, what was it, who knows. Sighting like you described have been around for years. Any pilot that has done a considerable amount of flying has seen things they couldn't explain or identify, that doesn't mean they are ET, or maybe they are, reality is we just don't know.
As for your question, they most likely weren't drones, and what new toys the government has they aren't telling us.

Yeah, what's up with all the probing? And how many probes do they need to know what's up there?
