The app asks for permissions to access camera and photos, but to make and manage phone calls? Really? Can anyone think of a reason for this? My guess is they want to download your contacts.
 
I can't find a good answer right now. Most of those, especially from a trusted app source, are safe enough and will not get abused. It allows the app to see the call status and ID of your device.

The best reason I can find right now is to 'call customer support' from the app easily.

Untrusted sources I would not give access to this as it COULD call all the 976 numbers it wanted on your dime.
