This is an EXCELLENT video on what the FAA is expecting in your comments.

I want to stress that EVERYONE take the time to write a courteous and intelligent response. Don't get emotional and don't be mean or it's a waste of your time.

Also it's important to realize that it's not just UAS operators who are weighing in on this topic... There are thousands of Manned Pilots (Private, Comm, and ATP) who are weighing in and proposing STRICTER regulations etc.

Kudos to the folks at FTCA for a thoughtful and professional presentation - especially with regards to the burden that requiring recreational pilots to fly at select fixed sites (AMA or otherwise.)

At 6:30 in the video they make some very good points about potential use of the LAANC system as a flexible means of creating fixed flight locations (although it should be noted that LAANC is now for both Part 107 AND recreational remote pilots' use.)

One reservation though - I'm a bit concerned about the idea of pilots (recreational or 107) using an expanded version to, in effect, request authorization to fly in Class G uncontrolled airspace. An alternative option might be the use of the NOTAM system - which already exists, is free (through 1800wxbrief.com), can be utilized for one-off or repeat flights, already has a filing mechanism specifically for drone pilots, can be files by phone or online, and creates information that can be shared with/accessed by sUAS and manned flight pilots alike.
