Hi... I'm from a burb, just over the north border of Chicago, centrally located between Wisconsin to the north and Indiana to the SSE.
I am a semi-retired professional photographer, having done strictly commercial work with some mixed portraiture for about 18 years, previously having photographed over 500 weddings/events in a "past life". I actually started off filming video when VHS was in its infancy, then leaving that to become a full-time photographer, long before digital imaging was a thing- with actual brick-and-mortar studio. I've worked from my home the last 10 years and just this year became involved in flying quads and learning the basics of aerial filming. Having been unmotivated from having been-there-done-that after decades, my interest in drones has reinvigorated my creative juices. I just passed my Part 107 test and should have my certificate within the week. Now it's time to think about ways to make money with it. I've been hanging out at the Mavic Pilots forum but it's time to expand my horizons. I hope to learn a lot here as well.
