My grandson just introduced me to Combat Flight Simulator. Now I'm really upset, he has never flown a real plane, but cleaned my clock on that thing.

I've never fooled around with combat flight simulators. I did practice making IFR approaches on MS flight simulator, it was ok, but just didn't feel right to me.

It never feel the same, unless you have a real moving professional flight simulator you can sit in.
Boy he was way of center when landing!!!

I'll be attending I/ISEC again this year and fly a few simulators. My wife works at LHM.
Several years ago I flew the F-18 Sim that had actuators so you had the feeling of actual flight.
Awesome!!

I think simulator are great for training purposes. Especially when you are doing an IFR approach with a 500 foot ceiling and a 30mph cross wind, now that will make you work.
That was the only nice thing about carriers, your runway was always turned into the wind.
