I've been using my personal drone within my organization in order to make a business case for UAS. The management is planning to purchase a drone this year for the company, but in the interim they would like to continue using my equipment. So far, I have not charged the company for the use of my drone, but they insist on compensating me for this moving forward.

Does anyone have input on the going rate for drone equipment use? Should I charge an hourly rate or a daily rate? I thought I would ask the community since I am unfamiliar with the going rate for this type of service.

Thanks in advance!

If they provide insurance etc and I'm flying the equipment we charge per hour.

The rate depends on if I'm flying a Spark, Phantom, Mavic, Inspire, or H520.

We take the price to replace the equipment and break it out over an hourly rate for a week. So if they use "us" for a solid week the equipment only would have a ROI of 40 hours. This concept has served us well over the years but we don't get the luxury of this type of project much any more. We paid for our entire company start-up in a single 3-day weekend back several years ago.
