Its a requirement for commercial aircraft registered in MN. That is needed to fly for hire. The certificate of insurance has to state that MN DOT Aeronautics must be notified 10 days in advance of cancellation by the carrier.

On another note, I did run into a situation with my commercial licensing whereas the state of MN DOT does not accept many of the "on demand" insurance carriers because they will not provide adequate wording on a Certificate of Insurance to comply with their requirements. It would have been nice...

Very much agree. I think having an untrained VO would be bad idea. Being distracted when conducting any flight operations is never good. Someone looking over your shoulder and yapping in your ear just does not work.

I believe I read something similar last year. That most RGB cameras have a filter that stops the IR band from reaching the sensor. And there is/was a company that was removing them and adding some others for a fee.
