Basically No One is Getting Fined for Flying Drones Without a License

The FAA will probably start enforcing laws now that DJI has drone tracking equipment. Assuming that most drones flown illegally are DJI drones.

    Where do you reside?

My location is Mitchell, SD. You could say it is the middle of nowhere...

What is everyone flying? Current projects?

I currently run a DJI Mavic Pro, used to have an Autel X-Star Premium. I love the Mavic's small form factor, but the DJI Go 4 app is killing me. For that reason, I want to switch back to Autel Robotics and get their foldable EVO drone. The EVO looks pretty cool as it has a built-in FPV screen, 4...

Do you have to restart your DJI drone multiple times to get it to work?

I haven't personally had this problem, but I have heard of it before. It is a common issue on other drones like the Parrot Bebop 2.

    Yuneec Launches First Commercial Drone

Inspire 2 has many more features, better cameras, more range. P4P has more range and stability. Also becasue of the fact that Yuneec seems to be going out.

    Yuneec Launches First Commercial Drone

Looks like a cool drone, but I would go with a DJI Inspire or P4P before I would buy that.

Is a Phantom 4 Pro Professional Enough?

In the end, it is up to you and your needs to decide if it is good enough for you. As a Mavic owner, the P4P would be a significant upgrade in image quality. Although the Mavic camera is pretty good, it just can't compare with the P4P.

Is a Phantom 4 Pro Professional Enough?

In my opinion, the P4P is one of the best drones out there for the money. Its camera is just awesome. The Yuneec typhoon H Pro has a good camera as well, but the drone probably doesn't have as much range.

    How much to charge?

I would say it is a function of how much it costs you to get to the site, the time it takes you, and the difficulty of the shoot. If it costs $50 in gas to get to a location, you should add that on to their bill. In the end, it is a deal between you and your customer. You can be flexible.

    Near Miss with Beach Baron

It doesn't look like a drone. Anyway, I have never heard of a drone reaching 5000 feet before. That is just insane. It is almost a mile high. My guess is that is was a bird.

    Best Drone For Commercial Use

Thanks for all your great replies! It sounds like the P4P is the best drone for the money.

    Best Drone For Commercial Use

Any suggestions for the best commercial drone? I have heard pretty good reviews of the Phantom 4/pro and the Inspire. Autel Robotics just released a new foldable drone that shoots 4K 60FPS, but I don't know if it is suitable for commercial purposes. I wish they would release a drone with...

How many DIY flyers in here

Looks cool! I haven't ever built my own quad, but I would like to someday. It would be good experience. A raspberry pi would be a great "brain" for a drone because you can add as much hardware as you want.
