Question about state/county parks and airspace control

What a reasonable policy. Wish more states would follow that lead.

    DJI Geolock SUCKS!

My local airport is sfc e during operational hours (06:00 to 22:30) but G before 06:00. I can't get DJI to unlock for flying early morning before operational hours.

    Crystal Sky monitor question

CS is better in very cold conditions. During the winter I could fly in -20F with my P4 Plus controller & my iPhone would die.

    2018 Growler Mountain Bike Race

Thank you! About 90%+ of the 64 mile bike race happens within the SFC E airspace of GUC (Gunnison - Crested Butte Airport). I applied to FAA for authorization in January to get footage at this race and received approval less than 2 weeks before the event.

    2018 Growler Mountain Bike Race

Thanks Jim, I look forward to flying out there when I can see it better. Thanks for the suggestions - I'm working on connecting the Atomos monitor today and will order the tray, etc. on Monday.

Skyward vs Airmap: Skyward requires FAA authorization beyond airspace radius?

I rely on ForeFlight’s sectionals. With the changeable map layers its pretty amazing to see the airspace with the topo or satellite map views. No ambiguity about location relative to airspace. In the FAA airspace authorization I recently obtained, they specified I comply with maximum altitudes...

    Crystal Sky monitor question

I shot a project this weekend and during editing realized that my 63 year old eyes, tiny screen, and bright sun is not an optimum combination. . . Results were fine but I realize that had I seen better I'd have made a lot of different choices on framing what to highlight. So I'm about to pull...

    2018 Growler Mountain Bike Race

My Airspace Authorization got approved 7 days before this race, barely in time! The race happens every year over Memorial Day Weekend. My first project with the P4P.

    Case study, appreciate comments:

yep, this time of year the window between sunrise & starting of airport operations is about 5 minutes. Until I received my authorization, I had planned to shoot in that window as the days get longer.

FAA- "Report all commercial activity conducted by non-Part 107 licensees to the local FAA FSDO"...

What about Part 107 pilots who knowingly choose to ignore airspace authorization requirements? I just started a thread over here about a specific case: Case study, appreciate comments:

    Case study, appreciate comments:

Hi Everyone, I am an amateur videographer who received my Part 107 license in December 2017. FYI, I applied for Airspace Authorization in January 2018 for the local airport (KGUC) Surface E airspace and last week received a 4 month authorization. The authorization specified I comply with the...

Drone crash causes wildfire in Flagstaff, AZ

I think if you're responsible for starting the fire for any reason (campfire, etc.), the forest service can charge you.

    GPS Testing Colorado

Thanks! Another good reason to be licensed - we're checking NOTAMS. The Front Range hobby fliers won't have a clue what's happening or why they're having GPS issues.
