I've just seen an increase in prices for FAA Part 107 training. Have you? Ya another dead horse...

Depends on if you go to a school, large company, small guy with little overhead. I usually tailor all training to the needs and abilities of students, and charge for my time, and equipment rental. Of course if the customer is a hobby, commercial, senor, or whatever, I reserve the right to help...

    Sectional Confusion ...

Avocet, there is only 1 Class Charlie, yes the sectional shows 2 rings because of the "layered" bases. Think of a cake with 2 layers but upside down. There are no embedded airspaces, where 1 begins, the other ended, there is no overlap. Class Echo can be confusing, and can be found where you...

FAA Announces Part 107 Re-Testing Criteria

I think it does. Pt 61 your certificate doesn't expire, same with your planes airworthy certificate, but to keep it "legal" there are certain requirements that must be met. 1 is a 61.56 flight review, or annual on ur aircraft, etc..Just because you are "current and legal" does not mean you are...

FAA Announces Part 107 Re-Testing Criteria

Understood....My post may have been in hopes of a Fed reading it and taking the idea up the ladder. In speaking with my local FSDO UAS supervisor, he informs me that he monitors forums, so I'm sure other feds are, so with that in mind: First re currency testing or flight reviews should not be to...

Uncertainty about this airspace near LA...

The dashed blue means that is it Class D airspace when the tower is operating. It is sometimes hard to find "correct information" and knowing where to look it important. I always have to "research". I think a reg in pt 91 ops refers to pre flight and if there ever is an "incident" the feds...

FAA Announces Part 107 Re-Testing Criteria

I'll put my $0.02 in and refer to pt 61 flight reviews and correlate over to pt 107. For pt 107 2 yr recurrency "flight reviews" isn't it possible to hire a pt 61 cfi with a pt 107 cert that has experience in your type of UAS ops. An hour ground, and hour in the "field" and a log book sign off...

    Airspace Question

UAV mapper and others. As a side note, I fly airplanes, and I instruct in single, multi and instrument certification, currency, proficiencies. Although regs may say something, I would become knowledgeable about any airport I'm flying nearby. Best to go to FBO/schools or find CFI's there. An...

    Airspace Question

I might be wrong, and I only glanced at this feed. Many airports are controlled airspace and then a COA/Waiver would be needed. But as noted in the AF/D, many Cl D or this particular Cl E is downgraded to a Cl G during certain times. The reason being the upgraded status is because of airplanes...

    Class E Tower Inspections

As an instrument pt 61 cfi/i/mei, and have flown the east coast extensively, I would recommend all pt 107 operators to study VFR aviation maps very well in planning. Any airport with a Cl E starting at 700 agl has instrument approaches. Pilots can be vectored onto a final approach, there are...
