Sorry to hear this. Not sure why they needed a drone for a "closeup" shot as the article says. In any event, safety was compromised by people that made some poor decisions. Safe flying has to happen everywhere.

So true. It is a "no haggle" market. I have gotten them to bump some jobs incrementally upon identifying to them that the work asked for is more time intensive than they initially identified.

I have flown 60+ for Dronebase and generally been paid promptly. Something has changed though in recent months. Currently, several existing missions I have completed remain unpaid now more than two weeks after being finished. I am ready to hang it up with them.

I kind of figured that is the case. Well, I can fly it with M2P, M2Z or M3 Cine. It looks like I could also do a vertical pano then stitch.

I have a client that would prefer portrait mode pictures for direct use on social media, where 1080x1920 is recommended. Can I get any suggestions on best way to produce these? Just crop and size to fit? Anything else I should consider? Not interested in getting a Mini3 for the Vertical...

Well, I do agree. I took what I read in the FAQ and thought that they did exactly that, secure a payment. They do not. That having been said, it is still a valuable platform, but I do not see it as a place to continue doing business after you have been introduced to your client for future job...

Just wanted to come back full circle on this. The client ended up being very much on the up and up, and got the issue corrected with payment. Droners re-processed it, and it got paid. I concur with comments made that this was not fault of Droners.io and this blip caused me to read their TOS...

Great point Fred. When I do my organic personally sourced jobs I do net 60. Not in a hurry. Droners though I have come to expect that it just gets paid. : ) This is actually the first time I have had an issue with them.
