    COA Extensions

Since this thread is a year old now, in case someone else should come across it as I did looking for instructions on how to extend a COA, I thought I'd post that I followed these instructions and found that the FAA is no longer granting Part 107 Authorization extensions. A copy of the email I...

Skyward vs Airmap: Skyward requires FAA authorization beyond airspace radius?

Good conversation guys. Thanks for jumping in. All good info and confirms my suspicions about Airmap considering that I, an "old guy" newbie of sorts [recently retired and taking my photography/videography hobby commercial (when I feel like it ... did I mention I was retired? ;))], after reading...

Skyward vs Airmap: Skyward requires FAA authorization beyond airspace radius?

I hear you. I much prefer the Skyward PC app anyway. My location I used as an example is in the 600 block of Tuthill Lane, Mobile, AL, 36608 Here's a shot of the Sectional and my location example is roughly where the crudely drawn circled red X is.

Skyward vs Airmap: Skyward requires FAA authorization beyond airspace radius?

Thanks, Luis. Completely agree, but since these apps are the providing LAANC approval/denial in real time, they're kind of a necessary evil, if you will. They need to get their 'stuff' together. In fact, for the same airspace I've had to report to Airmap that they are erroneously not providing...

Skyward vs Airmap: Skyward requires FAA authorization beyond airspace radius?

I'm confused. I notice that Skyward.io shows the full LAANC grid out beyond the controlled airspace radius. Airmap.io does not. See attached screenshots from each. In Skyward, my example location is flagged as requiring FAA authorization to fly, though it is outside the radius of the MOB Class C...

    Using someone else's registered drone

Thanks, folks. Re: FDS's suggestion on insurance ... I use Verifly for on-demand liability insurance per job, and interestingly they don't request any specific info on the drone being used. Coverage is good for "any drone under 55 lb." Thanks again!

    Using someone else's registered drone

I've been hired for a video shoot this weekend by a video production company that wants me to use it's registered Phantom 4 Pro rather than my P3P. Anybody know if I need to add this AC (with it's already existing registration #) to my inventory on the DroneZone portal? And can I do that...

    AirMap to the rescue

Sorry I'm late to the thread ... How was your experience in the Airmap app controlling the camera? I haven't flown with the Airmap app yet, but did some testing sitting on the sofa. Using both an iPhone 7 and an iPad with my Phantom 3 Pro I found camera control buggy and inconsistent...
