Bought a Phantom 4 a couple of years ago and have used it commercially both in Tucson and Milwaukee.
This last couple of months we have had a lot of problems with our final product in Milwaukee. They seem to involve temperature, altitude because of winds aloft, etc.
We have been told that the 4P would really help because of the camera.
Is this really true ?

If you are encountering problems with winds and temperatures the Pro won't likely solve them. I don't believe flight specs/hardware was changed between the two besides camera upgrade and more obstacle avoidance sensors for the sides and bottom.

The camera is however superior to the regular P4 due to the bigger sensor and mechanical shutter (global shutter I believe, versus the rolling shutter used on the smaller/older DJI models). Depending on if you do video it also can shoot upto 4K at 60fps

If you're selling imagery, the P4 pro camera is a huge upgrade photographically.
The sensor is 4 times larger.
The camera has a real controllable aperture so you don't have to shoot everything at full open.

As mentioned above in this thread, the 1-inch sensor on the P4P is a significant jump in imaging quality over the P4. What kind of commercial use application were you running into problems with?

Drop us a message or give us a ring if we can assist with pinpointing a workflow and equipment for your operation. We are in WI quite a bit (our company was actually founded there)...we've got some LE training programs in the Milwaukee area that we are trying to schedule but we want spring weather! Not fricken 12" of snow in April...

I had a P4 and recently sold it and purchased a P4A. Same basic unit however much better camera on the P4A or Pro. If image quality is not a priority than it's not worth the upgrade. The shell and batteries are interchangeable so all your extra batteries will still work if you upgrade.
