DJI P4P - High Altitude Operations

He can't get up to his desired altitude.
The Phantom won't go past 1640 feet.

There is software available that will remove those restrictions. However getting the FAA to go along with it is a different matter. You can remove all airspace restrictions and altitude restrictions. I'm not recommending that, but the software to do it is available.

And once you do you have immediately invalidated your insurance and therefore cannot operate.
Since this is a commercial UAV Pilots forum I would imagine no one in their right mind would do what you suggest!
Maybe one for the Spark Pilots forum......

Any advice for flying at 4,000 feet? Is it still considered line of sight? I mean, it's there, in my line of sight, but can you really *see* a P4P at 4K feet?
