^^^^^ This is one reason why so many people are literally "afraid" of our flying machines. Things that were fantasy 30 years ago are actually happening today. Many people were actually "programmed" to fear flying machines that were autonomous after watching several TV shows and movies where machines turned bad and tried to exterminate Mankind. Even though it was all fantasy and make-believe I honestly think we were taught that technology could evolve and turn on us or at least be used against us by bad people.

And here we are today with "learning" drones and so much more.

This isn't the first large "Boeing" drone. Couple years ago their Insitu drone subsidiary developed the FLARES X-8 for launch and recovery of a 40lb. fixed wing drone. The size of it is very similar to the Boeing X-8. Having some "hands on" with it I can say it's quite impressive.

Apparently DJI have opened a large payload development section so they get can into commercial sectors plus a Chinese retail company called JD.com which is developing a drone which can carry 1 Tonne.
