Drone pilot is charged in collision with a helicopter

I don't know what this guy was thinking, or if he saw the helicopter. Perhaps he was operating beyond LOS and couldn't see the drone.

It was at night and he lost VLOS of the drone, which he never should have launch it when he heard the helicopter in the area, but according to his statement that was the reason why he launch was to be nosy
