Hi there, can actionable outputs be produced from Sattelite imagery. Say we're looking to irrigated our fields in Sri Lanka, can we check for irrigatable land using drones? What level accuracy would be recommended?

Pedro, yes you can use RGB, Multispectral, and/or thermal sensors on drones to capture imagery of your irrigated fields. Often times, drones can be more effective because they are on-demand, can provide baselines for flight over flight analyses AND the resolution is much greater. Satellite imagery "refreshes" every 30-50 days and has a resolution of about 1meter/pixel, depending upon your drone/sensor combination, you can fly a drone 200'-400' AGL when you want and obtain 1cm/pixel resolution.
There is a difference between resolution and accuracy, if you are mapping fields, usually relative accuracy (3cm on X and Y axes, and about 5cm on the Z axis) is sufficient, but if you need absolute accuracy, it can be improved with ground control points and/or survey monuments.

Sentera's Field agent now gives you access to a ton of satellite data that you can use along with drone data to give you a more in-depth look at your fields.
