I'm not licenced commercially but looking at herbicide applications in Forestry in South Africa. I've tested the DJI Agras MG1S and it is incredible. Licensing of Pilots in South Africa is unnecessarily expensive at the moment since our Civil Aviation Authority expects drone pilots to be almost qualified to fly aeroplanes.

Hey Murray,
I am now doing my due diligence on what to purchase for spraying trees in hills. The problem I am facing is not being able to try out a drone before purchase. Dishing out $10 to $25k without proving the concept is dumb on my part. Did you purchase the DJI or do a lease or something else?
Thanks, Hal

I flew crop dusters for 18 years, that seems pretty incredible, lot cheaper and safer than a crop duster. I would thing it would depend on the size of the farm, would be great for smaller farms close to metropolitan areas.

Hi Hal
Sorry for the silence. I was lucky enough that a small business had started sprating sugarcane and had set themselves up as an agent for the MG-1S in South Africa. They were very keen to help DJI make mods to suit forestry in SA. I agree spending that kind of money in such an unknown is ludicrous. The MG-1S definitely is way superior to the MG-1.
Hope I've helped a bit.

Then build your own for a quarter the price.
