Hello all,

I am Serge Thomas from FGCU.EDU and I am conducting research in ecology. As an Oceanologist/limnologist, I study shallow aquatic systems. Examples are shallow rivers like the Saint Johns River lakes and the Caloosahatchee , Lakes (Apopka, Trafford), retention/detention ponds and wetlands (Everglades, STAs etc.). I have recently stated a research program using remote sensing to study the aforementioned systems. We have 4 drones, a VTOL RTK Firefly6 Pro with RGB and Rededge cameras, a Matrice 100, a phantom 4 pro and a 3DR Solo.

I want to track seagrasses and oysters spatial distribution changes in the Caloosahatchee estuary, monitor algae, delineate watersheds and assess vegetation stress.

So do you have any insight about Lake Apopka? When will it finally be healthy?
I live right next to Lake Apopka. We take our small peddle boat out and peddle until we can't. No its not a paddle boat.

that sounds like fascinating work
will be in your neck of the woods in March if all goes well
welcome aboard
