Hi,

Is anyone here using 60 plus MP camera/s for mapping crops? Things like plant counting, tassel/ear counting and phenotyping require mm resolution and standard 20 MP though capable of doing these jobs fail when it comes to efficacy and efficiency. This is at least how I see things based on my experience.
Thus my question.
There are a few 60-61 MP cameras available these days. What camera do you use and how it does.
One of them is Sony ILX-LR1. Curious to hear from those who uses it. What lens for mapping?
What drone do you use and what is your setup?
Anything
Best,
Pawel

IMHO as a business, the cost of the sensor vs how much work is available for a sensor like that is prohibitive. We fly thousands of acres per season and I wouldn’t purchase one. It’s great for special purpose and research. Also not many platforms available to process the resolution needed for that data. You would have to be a specialist.

I hope this is helpful.

Thanks for your valuable comment.
I indeed look at research and agree it would have limited use in general mapping.

Looks like you are busy flying. What kind of jobs do you do if I may ask?
