I’m looking for some honest feedback from other commercial pilots on a new client job portal / dashboard we’ve been working on.

We’ve been experimenting with a client-facing “job portal” instead of traditional PDFs or Drive folders — basically a single link where a client can see and interact with everything that they want to. The idea is to move away from “here’s a folder of photos” and toward something that feels more like a structured job deliverable, especially for inspections, roofing, and construction progress.

I put together a demo of what a client would see (no login required) for anyone willing to take a look and share thoughts:

Not selling anything here — genuinely interested in:
  • Would clients actually use this?
  • Is this overkill for most jobs?
  • What would you remove or simplify?

Appreciate any feedback.

I'm pretty much exclusively working in civil stuff for now, where I work, this would be massive overkill. They see stuff like that as something they are paying extra for. Most of the time on the rare occasions I do photo or video for real estate type work, it's going to someone who is just going to drop it in a powerpoint. This unknown end user might appreciate that site for a presentation, but the 3 layers of middle management don't know exactly what it's for or what the person getting it actually desires, and they aren't going to explain.

I appreciate it, how cool it is and professional looking. But any time I do anything I'm just asked to put photos in a folder somewhere someone can download them. Sometime they just want them "emailed" and fuss if it's not a normal attachment, then I have to go through explaining their minimum cost email server does not want to send attachments more than 20MB.

But, do not despair, as I am very confident my experience is not representative of your target customers. I feel like the people I usually work with don't want anything better because it would require them to learn that there is something better.

I admit that program looks awesome and professional. Like others I am not sure the customers would be interested in that, yet. I think its great for moving forward and addressing the needs of construction customers. I say keep moving forward and establish a standard.

That's great and will keep you it mind for future projects. Would be great for home inspections. There's select job or two that this would have been a nice touch as a deliverable, but most of the time the inspector that I work with just wants the raw photos.
My main focus is on 2D and 3D maps, but I could see this being very useful for an ongoing monitoring job. You could even offer different template styles; one for site inspections that might break the ortho down into smaller portions depending on the size with the option to add certain annotations in the single photos, or a template for progress updates that has a timeline or compare feature to look back at specific dates, maybe a template for stockpiles/earthworks sites.. Ether way I think it's good move forward for the industry as a whole.

Our platform allows you to process your raw imagery into 2D maps and point clouds, with built in viewers and measurement tools including volumetrics, letting you keep your entire workflow on one platform. ;)
