LANNC Submission Pending ATC approval in 0 grid assistance

I have gotten several approvals in 0 grids using AirMap. depending on location it generally takes a day or two to a week. As close as that is to the airport you may not get authorized for 200 feet. Try 100 foot. I think part of it is reputation. I have received several authorizations over the...

any hint how to do this video transition

Sorry I was on my phone and must have missed it. Various ways to do it but that exact one to me looks like it was done with a Mavic Air "Quick Shot". The Mavic Air is one of my many drones. My wife and I have done dozens of that "Astroid quick shot" while hiking and exploring. Basically fly...

help to fill out this cheat sheet

As a student pilot it is okay to ask questions and build study guides. It is also very important to know where to find the information. When I was getting my Airplane pilot certificate and even after I have found this FAA publication very useful as far as sectionals go: FAA Aeronautical Chart...

    Velos UAV, the ultimate heli?

Generally tail in hover is the first thing an RC helicopter pilots learns. Can be tough for some of us... took me hours. then tons and tons of hover practice before forward flight. Nose in hover, left hover, right hover,.... then flying vertical and horizontal boxes... much more work than a...

    Velos UAV, the ultimate heli?

The same guy taught us both to fly RC helis, but I never picked up the 3d. Alan on the other hand surpassed our mentor. Alan learned when he was 12.... I learned in my 30s. If I get back into Helis I would like to work on my 3d skills. RC helicopter skills really help flying drones (multi-rotors).

    Velos UAV, the ultimate heli?

I have just been flying my drones for the past several years and only have a couple small helicopters. I have been feeling the urge to fly helis again and have been looking at the Blade 230 S V2 as a good way to get back into it. Will have to think about it some more.

    Velos UAV, the ultimate heli?

Generally RC helis like this don't come with a Transmitter or a receiver. So you buy whatever you like and install it. In the video they are flying with a Jeti Jeti USA 1.508.JetiUSA (1.508.538.4872). When I started flying nitro RC helicopters I had a Futaba, a few years ago I switched to...

    107 Certification Renewal Requirements

If your a part 61 certificate holder as in Private Pilot and a part 107 certificate holder you don't have to take the test at the CAT center as long as your part 61 certificate is current (BFR) your part 107 is current. Mike

What do you do with half a battery?

Thanks for the info. I am of the hazards of storing them charged, and really love the auto discharge features of my DJI battery. From the OP I came to the impression it was 50% at end of day and he planned to fly the next. If it was me I would just charge it that evening so it would be full for...

What do you do with half a battery?

I was under the impression that LiPo batteries did not have a memory, so if you have a half battery at the end of the day why not just put it on the charger? If that was already covered than I'm sorry I must have missed it.

I flew the Mavic Air yesterday!

I was invited to a Drone Nerds/DJI presentation in Hollywood Fl yesterday and got to play with the OSMO Mobile 2 and actually fly a Mavic Air! The winds were about 25 mph, it flew great, and still got nearly 20 minute flight times. Nice little copter. It wouldn't replace my Mavic Pro due to...
