Best Drone Insurance

The best benefit with using SkyWatch for me has been that they provide me liability insurance no matter which drone in my fleet I happen to be flying (under 55lbs).
The biggest scam with insurance, not limited to uas, is that they want a premium for each drone you fly, even if you only fly one at a time. Their only argument to back up this scam is that they also do that same scam for auto insurance, lol. They seem to think that because they have been getting away with it for decades, that makes it right.

It looks like SkyWatch is now moving to the scam model on monthly and annual policies, but the hourly is still open to whatever drone you happen to be using.

Charging the fee based upon the drone in the fleet with the highest potential liability if fair, but don't charge me for all the drones that are sitting on the shelf and at zero risk for causing damage, duh.

I just switched my business insurance due to them not covering drone liability. I own a real estate photography company and carried 1 mil/2 mil in general liability and also have professional liability and E&O with HisCox for around $650 a year. I switched to The Hartford and increased my limits to 2 mil/4 mil AND added drone liability for a total of $750 a year. My drone itself is insured along with all of my other gear with Nationwide on a separate policy.

Glad you asked. I am just starting the annual renewal process. I currently have 1M Liability Commercial Insurance and the cost is $500. My question to folks is I need to add a second craft to my policy. My agent says the premium will double for the second Drone. I believe I saw someone mention on the forum at some point a carrier that provides 1M General Liability for multiple drones for $800?
I use PPA(Professional Photographers of America). You have to join to get their drone coverage. Annual membership is $320. That does NOT cover drones and payload. You have to buy a separate Drone policy with it. I have $12,000 coverage on my M200 right now. Total annual policy coverage on Hull plus equipment from them is $600. That is cost of membership and Hull/payload coverage. Covers any damage, crash or theft.

Sorry meant to add the Commercial Liability is through Aero-Global an aviation agent that I think I got from this forum. Glad to provide the agents name/number if interested
Do you have a referral code so I can mention I hit the info from you.
Please send me with who your drone is insured and anything else I need to know as I need to start a new job as drone pilot and k need to be insured’s for damage to drone or property
Thank you in advance

@CPTDRONES Update since Last post. I am now buying 3 year DJI care on all my Enterprise drones. Seems to be a little cheaper in the long run. After the 3 years, I don't insure them for damage/replacement anymore as I usually turn over my inventory around 3 years. My most recent Liability policy is with SkyWatch. the have Hull coverage as well. Might want to give them a look.

I think DJI care is the most affordable hull coverage plan.

We already maintain DJI Care for the drones but the intention of the insurance some missions require is general liability. These are two completely separate things. We ended up going with an endorsement for our home-based business under our homeowner's umbrella policy and it only increased that policy by $20/month for $1m/$2m.
