Did DJI just set the new benchmark for Thermal Payloads?

It seems like commercial thermal payloads have been stuck at 640x512, roughly 372,000 microbolometers, in their sensors for 5 plus years. DJI just released the H30T payload with 1280x1024 or roughly 1.3 million microbolometers in their uncooled sensor?? Hope the next Mavic Enterprise line has some thermal improvements.

Yeah - I saw that and wondered the same thing. We were ecstatic when DJI upgraded their sensors to 640 x 512 from the previously much lower resolution - and it should be only a matter of time for the technology to trickly down to the M3Ts. Then we can all go out and purchase new drones. Oh wait, ****.

Yes, they just raised the bar. Autel's new Alpha is unique in that it has two different 640 thermals with different lenses for different use cases, but I'd rather have thermal "Hi-Def" for my uses.

I would hope that the "my guess" new M40T and Mavic 4T would have this new upgraded thermal.

On a side note, the zoom on this new camera can now read a license plate at ~2200 feet!

No, other companies like sierra olympia have had full HD (1920x1080) thermal uav cameras for about 3 years. Dji using chinese cores, a bit behind us/European ones.
