Hello
Im a firefighter in the uk and i am trying to put together a presentation to my bosses showing the potential benefits using drones can have within this sector.
We currently use a drone to help with missing people and for a lot of postfire/investigation images but would appreciate any other uses you have found benificial to your services.
Any ideas you have will also help
Thanks on advance

Welcome.

Go through YouTube and search for Menlo Park Fire Department.

They are the leading innovators and champion for drone use in the US.

Do you have specific personnel within your unit that hold PFCO? I know some of the NQE’s are doing ‘specialist’ emergency service training etc.
Do you use thermal for SAR and post fire investigations or to locate hotspots On a fire that has been put out?

Yes currently we have 1 station and all there have a pfco. The station covers an area approx 1600km2 which i think is to far i would like it statigicaly placed so it could be availble for most incidents. The main use so far that i have noted is missing persons and yes they are using a TIC to assist. I also have seen footage from some of the investigations that have used the drone which have definitely been beneficial.
The problem i have is Im not stationed where the drone is based so can only find out what i can from colleagues and my impression is its an asset that needs to be used more.
What i want to do is find out all the possibilities there are with drones on try to move it use on to within my brigade and posdibly further
