On the ranch the family had several electric fences, they let me learn about electric fences the hard way. Never did urinate on one though, but they do hurt.
Same here .
My " Step Dad " raised , bred , and trained Racking horses.
Guess what my job was for 7 years.

My first electric fence moment was immediately after an argument over my mini bike.
I made the mistake of reminding him that he was not my real dad. I was young and angry.
10, do be exact.
He conceded and told me that I could ride in the south pasture.
With my 10 year old chest poked out, I snatched the cord of an 8 horse mini bike and rode right up to the gate .
I threw the kickstand down and dismounted the minibike.
As I reached up to push the gate, I noticed 3 strands of some new thin wire and thought nothing of it.
As soon as my hand rested firm on one of the 3 strands, I began to dance .
I danced for a couple of seconds like a marionette puppet in a hurricane.

My hand came loose and I stood there in shock.
Literally.
My step dad walked up to me, leaned in and said " I might not be your real dad but I am smarter than you ".
He then proceeded to explain to me how much those horses in that pasture cost and that those horses came first because they put food on the table.

With a smile on his face, he looked down told me that I had learned a valuable lesson.
While I rolled the minibike back to the garage, he told me as soon I finished cleaning out all 6 of our 12x15 stalls, he would put the horses back in the barn and I could ride in the pasture.
Without the electric fence on.

This happened at 10:00AM.
My minibike was on it's second tank of gas by 1:00PM.:)

Thanks for those that responded to the poll - it closed Monday 12/2.
If you didn't check it out 50% who responded are 60 or above and Part 107 Certified. I am sure some of those are in their 70s but I didn't have room to add that category.

Another 22% are in the 50-60 yoa category and Part 107 Certified.

I guess us "old" guys & gals have the time to study and fly ?

Well well, I guess the "Seniors" take the cake. Good to see our experienced pilots are actually experienced in the air and in life congrats! My section barely got 5 votes step it up. Entrepreneurs
