Hey everyone — my name’s Josh, based in Central Florida. I’m in the process of launching LumaTerra Aerials, focusing on practical drone services for inspections and documentation, starting with roof inspection imagery.
I’m currently working through the early stages: validating demand, talking with local companies, and building workflows the right way before scaling or investing too heavily in equipment. My background is in visual work and operations, and my goal is to build a sustainable, real-world drone business — not just fly for fun.
I joined this forum to learn from people who are actually doing the work:
what drones are best for what jobs, what you wish you knew early on, common mistakes to avoid, and best practices around inspections, deliverables, and client expectations.
Looking forward to learning, contributing where I can, and connecting with others in the industry.
If anyone here does inspection work, I’d love to hear what niche you found easiest to break into early on.
Thanks — glad to be here.
