@BryanD ; sweet setup!
I'm usually ok in the shade with my iPhoneX. As others have mentioned, part 107 is pretty clear about being able to see your device at all times, so for RE I'd stick with a "normal" setup.
For glare: make sure your sunglasses are not polarized. Looking at a monitor with polarized lenses can be a nightmare.
