How to break up one large mission into smaller parts ? DP ? or PIX4D ?

I’ve done thousands of acres on multiple days with multiple battery packs w/ Drone Deploy without any problems. Just be sure to finish the flight/ battery pack on a way point. Otherwise it will fly the last line again. For processing drone deploy does fine as does pix4d. Nik

    Military Training Routes

I do flights almost weekly that take place in the Owens MOA, where they can fly down to 200’ and I can be up to 400’. It is my responsibility to let them know I’m there. I phone/ email at the ATC at least 24 hours ahead of my flight time and submit a DROTUM through 1800briefx.com. Doing this...

    Anyone flying a Compliant Aircraft

Not cheap. $8-12k for the airframe then start adding specialized cameras and mapping software. We made quite an investment. Nik

    Anyone flying a Compliant Aircraft

I do air quality control, so we have developed some sensors that we fly with. But we also do a lot of mapping, photogrammetry, vegetation analysis etc. Basically anything we can think to use a UAV for. I did a "spot light" article with them awhile back. Nik

I have three Draganflys 1 X4ES and two Commanders. Great machines and a great company. Nik

    NOTAMs

I file drotums through www.1800wxbrief.com when I fly in the local MOA area. The military can fly down to 200' and I can go to 400' so it is best to let them know my plans. Nik

We had spree guys drop by with this a few weeks ago, about a half million dollar setup. It has its own van for transport. I believe its called the vapor by Pulse Aerospace Nik

    Is golf course business lucrative?

I've did a little test work with the local golf course here. They added it to their webpage (I didn't do pick the soundtrack), and want me to do more work this spring/ summer. It is a lot of fun, and pretty simple, they tell you what they want shots of, very little editing. I have been looking...

What is everyone flying? Current projects?

Thanks! I will look into the website issues. Yeah, I keep quite busy :) As for flight time we are getting in the low 20 minute range, a bit less than what the company claims, but we believe its due to elevation and ambient temperature.... Still looking into it. Nik

What is everyone flying? Current projects?

Oh, this is a cool topic For my employer : What aircraft are in your fleet? One Draganfly x4s, two Draganfly Commanders, old Phantom, and soon to get a Draganfly Tango2 fixed wing What do you like/dislike about your current fleet?l Like - great manufacture, custom equipment, very reliable...

Fixed Wing or Multi Rotor for Surveying?

We just budgeted for the Draganfly Tango2 because we need to cover a lot of area in our surveys. Its specs state 2-4 hours of airtime with just batteries, or longer with optional solar panels. Looking forward to doing fewer short flights that multi rotors require. Nik

    SAR ?'s

Hey guys, thanks for the responses, I really appreciate it. I think you are both right about relying on the on scene authority. Our SAR unit is all voluntary and works under the sheriffs umbrella, they are the ones in contact with NPS, wilderness rangers etc to run the rescue. I have heard of...

    SAR ?'s

I had a couple of questions about SAR that I've been going over. I joined our local SAR group almost a year ago hoping to be able to use my UAV and skills to assist someone in need. We have not had the need since I joined, but I see possible issues. The area we cover is large (Mt Whitney to...

    Hello

Just wondered over here from the Inspire forum, glad to be here. I've been flying for my employer for about 6 years doing research on the Owens Lake in eastern California. Started with a Parrot then worked through a few hobby grade UAV's and now have 3 Draganfly's. Personally last year I...
