I had a gig near a Class C airspace/airport a while back. Contacted FSDO with some questions first. My flight was to be inline with final approach alignment, but still ‘just outside’ the actual airspace. I thought it would be a good idea to advise everyone. FSDO told me NO.

This was for a flight plan and/or Cl C airspace. Due to the sectional, I was very close to the outer ring, but under the ceiling. We had a conversation on my exact location per GPS. My concern was that I was directly aligned with the active runway for the day. My thoughts were “Better safe than sorry”.
